Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget, and quality requirements.

Accountabilities

  • Management of Delivery: Manage the delivery, resource allocation, and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives, and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with Customers and Business Teams: Manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the bank's objectives, regulation, and security policies.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Change Management: Manage change requests and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Vendor Relations: Ensure vendors deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving delivery outcomes and fostering a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and growth.

  • Individual Contributor Expectations: Be a subject matter expert within own discipline and guide technical direction. Lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialization to complete assignments. Train, guide, and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long-term profits, organizational risks, and strategic decisions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Risk Management: Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Leadership and Accountability: Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Comprehensive Understanding: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the organization's functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other areas of work, for business-aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Problem Solving: Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Research Adoption: Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem-solving processes.
  • Relationship Building: Seek out, build, and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.

We are looking for a Head of Environment as a Service (EaaS) – UK to lead the strategy, delivery, and continuous improvement of our infrastructure and environment services. This is a senior leadership role focused on driving operational excellence, building high-performing teams, and delivering resilient, scalable services within a complex enterprise environment.
