Location: Edmonton, North London Salary: £60,000 + Benefits Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Are you an experienced warehouse leader with a background in FMCG or food distribution? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy leading teams to deliver operational excellence?
Our client, a successful and growing organisation within the food distribution sector, is seeking a Head of Warehouse Operations to take overall responsibility for warehouse activities across a 24-hour operation.
This is a senior leadership role where you will drive performance, maintain exceptional standards of safety and compliance, and ensure outstanding stock accuracy and customer service.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead warehouse managers, supervisors, and operational teams to ensure all activities are completed efficiently and effectively across multiple shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading all warehouse operations across a 24-hour cycle
- Driving high standards of health, safety, hygiene and compliance
- Managing stock integrity, inventory control, and product rotation
- Ensuring exceptional levels of pick accuracy and customer satisfaction
- Developing and mentoring supervisory teams to build a high-performance culture
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiencies and reduce costs
- Managing resource planning, staffing levels, annual leave, and absence
- Producing operational reports and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Collaborating with transport and senior leadership teams to deliver outstanding operational performance

What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will bring:
Essential Requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in a senior warehouse leadership position
- Significant experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or food distribution environments
- Proven experience managing large, multi-functional teams in fast-paced operations
- Strong knowledge of stock management, inventory control, and warehouse processes
- Experience using ERP and warehouse management systems
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others
- A strategic mindset combined with strong operational detail attention
- Strong organisational skills and experience managing KPIs and performance metrics

Desirable Qualifications
- Warehouse & Inventory Management qualification (Level 5)
- Food Safety & Hygiene qualifications (Level 3 or 4)
- HACCP certification (Level 3 or 4)
