Head of Weapon Integration Transformation and Programme Enablers
FCAS & GCAP Senior Leader – Weapon Integration Transformation (WIT)
About the Role
An exciting opportunity in Stevenage for a senior-level leader accountable for delivering a range of enablers across FCAS, including GCAP and Tempest WS5. Drive a new approach to weapon integration and employment effects, influencing platform and system design while enabling infrastructure, tooling, and digital validation to ensure successful programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the Weapons Integration Transformation (WIT) strategy, including digital roadmaps, validation processes, and cost/benefit analysis.
- Lead national and international engagement to shape enablers, align WIT strategy, and manage UK WIT governance & validation opportunities.
- Supervise synthetic development for functional weapons integration and mission system integration.
- Lead WS5 integration programme (validation via shadow clearances) and cross-stakeholder change influence in regulatory compliance (TAA, UK MAA contributions).
- Ensure adherence to cyber security and programme requirements as Product Cyber Security Authority (PCSA) delegate.
- Sponsor secure-by-design infrastructure (digital, physical, HPC, data storage) to enable Weapon Integration Transformation.
- Manage a combination of project line and functional leadership across a multidisciplinary team.
- Act as Sector Customer for Secure by Design assessments and run the Sector Security Panel for the Chief Engineer.
About the Organisation
Future Combat Air System (FCAS) is a transformative UK/Italy/Japan program designing a next-generation combat air platform (GCAP). This role will shape weapons integration & employment effects design, influenced by MCAP (the UK’s contribution to FCAS), delivering platforms and systems faster than ever before.

Requirements
- A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, defining work scope independently.
- Technical project delivery experience, ideally in multi-nationalenvironments across):
- Knowledge of Current Mission System Integration challenges (both technological and collaborative), ensuring agility within evolving requirements.
- Proven ability to sponsor large multi-site infrastructure projects while managing stakeholders.
- A confident communicator, influencing regulators and stakeholders at all levels.
- Operates effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments, distinctly balancing a spectrum of risks.
- Expertise working with multi-national partners (domestic & international) in cutting-edge programs.
- Demonstrated expertise with security clearance procedures and adherence to security guidelines.
Essential Experience
- Direct experience overseeing information technology infrastructure or transformation initiatives.
- Technical background in cyber safety, aviation engineering/weapons system integration, or equivalent experience.
- Familiarity with GCP-approved access, wider cybersecurity regulations or similar technologies required for doD/aerospace projects.
Bonus Skills
- Hands-on experience in advanced system design such as Integrated Modelling and Simulation, full-discrepancies in cybersecurity, High-DimCalc (High-Fidelity/Dynamic Calculation) software.
- Proven leadership in joint team deliveries.

Financial & Equity Benefits
- Salaray: Circa £80k, per experience level.
- Company Bonus: Up to 30% of base salary annually.
- Car Allowance: £300 per calendar month.
- Maximum Pension Contribution: Up to 14% (employer + employee).
