Head Painter & Decorator – De Vere Hotels
Looking for step in your career?
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-driven Paintor & Decorator to take on the role of Head Painter & Decorator and lead our painting and decorating team, ensuring our venue maintains an outstanding appearance and guest experience.
About the Role
As Head Painter & Decorator, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing painting and decorating tasks across the venue to maintain the property’s look and feel
- Supervising a team of painters and decorators, ensuring high standards are consistently met
- Managing decorating projects from start to finish, delivering them efficiently with minimal disruption to guests
- Working closely with the Maintenance Manager to plan and coordinate work
- Setting an example through excellent work ethic and technical skill
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard
- Supporting with hands-on decorating tasks, with occasional involvement in general maintenance
Responsibilities
- Supervising day-to-day painting and decorating operations
- Planning, scheduling, and coordinating decorating projects
- Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the venue
- Leading all team members, providing guidance and resolving any issues
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations at all times
- Collaborating with the Maintenance Manager to align projects with venue needs
- Occasionally assisting with general maintenance tasks as required

Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Painter & Decorator in a hotel or hospitality environment
- Management or team leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff
- Strong organisation and planning skills, able to prioritise workloads effectively
- Keen eye for detail to ensure top-quality results
- Awareness of Health & Safety policies and best practices
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and team-focused attitude
