Team Lead – Professional Services & BPO Sourcing
Role Purpose
The Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of sourcing professionals supporting a dedicated Financial Services client across Professional Services categories, including Consulting, HR Services, Marketing Services, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). The role is focused on leadership, stakeholder management, category strategy, team performance, and value delivery. The Team Lead will serve as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and act as the primary procurement point of contact for Professional Services and BPO-related spend.
While remaining accountable for sourcing outcomes, the Team Lead will primarily oversee and guide sourcing activities delivered by the team. Direct involvement in sourcing execution will typically be limited to highly strategic, sensitive, or high-value initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of sourcing professionals.
- Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure effective delivery across the sourcing portfolio.
- Drive a high-performance, client-focused culture within the team.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and quality assurance across sourcing initiatives.
- Support talent development, succession planning, performance management, and capability building.
- Promote sourcing best practices, governance, and continuous improvement.

Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the senior procurement business partner for Professional Services and BPO categories.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business stakeholders across the client organization.
- Understand business priorities and translate them into category and sourcing strategies.
- Provide strategic procurement advice to support business objectives and decision-making.
- Escalate and resolve complex commercial, supplier, and stakeholder matters.
Category Leadership
- Maintain a deep understanding of market dynamics, supplier landscapes, and emerging industry trends.
- Identify opportunities for value creation, cost optimization, supplier consolidation, and risk mitigation.
- Drive category planning and sourcing pipelines in partnership with client stakeholders.
BPO Procurement Leadership
- Serve as the primary procurement SPOC for BPO-related sourcing and supplier management activities.
- Partner directly with the client's BPO leadership and operational teams.
- Support the development of sourcing and supplier strategies across outsourced service providers.
- Ensure alignment between procurement objectives and business priorities within the BPO organization.
Governance & Strategic Deal Support
- Provide executive oversight for sourcing projects delivered by the team.
- Support complex negotiations, supplier escalations, and strategic commercial decisions where required.
- Personally lead sourcing activities only for select high-value, high-risk, or strategically important engagements.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, and sourcing processes.
- Monitor team performance and value delivery against agreed objectives.

- 10+ years of procurement and sourcing experience.
- Proven success leading procurement or sourcing teams.
- Strong experience across Professional Services categories, including Consulting, HR Services, Marketing Services, and BPO.
- Financial Services industry experience strongly preferred.
- Significant experience partnering with senior stakeholders and executive leadership teams.
- Strong experience in BPO procurement, outsourced services, or supplier governance highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience developing category strategies and managing complex stakeholder environments.

- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong understanding of supplier markets and procurement best practices.

Preferred Background
- Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or Asset Management procurement experience.
- Experience within Professional Services sourcing, Consulting, Shared Services, or BPO environments.
- MCIPS qualification desirable.
