Head Stylist – Grooming Salon Lead Full-time, £28,885 per annum | Permanent | SU1, Riverside Retail Park, Link Road, Yate, Bristol, BS37 4AQ

About Us

About the Role

As a Head Stylist, you’ll lead our grooming salon with expertise, setting high standards and empowering your team. In this hands-on, target-driven role, you’ll:

  • Deliver exceptional grooming services to pets, ensuring they leave looking and feeling their best
  • Mentor and develop your team to maintain salon excellence
  • Collaborate closely with the Store Manager to meet performance goals
  • Drive efficiency while upholding ethical, compassionate care for every customer-pet duo

This full-time position requires regular attendance and flexibility across the week.


Responsibilities

  • Set and enforce grooming salon standards, ensuring quality, hygiene, and consistency
  • Train and manage the grooming team, fostering skill development and a positive workplace culture
  • Maintain schedule and revenue targets in alignment with service-level expectations
  • Problem-solve to resolve customer concerns, workplace challenges, and operational hurdles
  • Monitor inventory, pricing, and sales strategies to maximise profitability
  • Uphold policies on health, safety, and animal welfare across everything you do

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience as a qualified, accredited dog groomer
  • Sound knowledge of breed-specific grooming techniques and salon workflows
  • Proven ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback
  • Commitment to targets, with a results-driven mindset aligned to commercial goals
  • Exceptional customer service—building trust with pet owners via rapport and empathy
  • Flexibility to work varied hours (including evenings/weekends), willing to shift roster when needed
  • A passion for animal welfare and a love for grooming that inspires others
