Head Teacher
Polaris Education – Morley School, Maidenhead Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only Salary: £50,000–£60,000 (dependent on experience)
About the Role
Are you a compassionate and dedicated educational leader? Do you have a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN)?
We are seeking an exceptional Head Teacher to lead our nurturing and inclusive school community, helping to develop an outstanding education environment for pupils aged 5–18 with complex needs.

About the School
Located on the outskirts of Maidenhead, our school caters to up to 100 pupils, providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. We believe in a holistic approach, ensuring each child feels valued, respected, and empowered—balancing academic progress with emotional well-being and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
Educational Leadership
- Develop and implement a visionary educational strategy, ensuring compliance with the Independent School Standards & Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
- Drive academic excellence while maintaining a strong SEN-focused curriculum.
Safeguarding
- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring robust policies, training, and reporting.
- Collaborate with external safeguarding professionals to safeguard pupils effectively.
Curriculum Enhancement
- Tailor the curriculum to meet each pupil’s diverse needs, fostering engagement and prepare students for their next steps in education/employment.
Pastoral Care & SEN Advocacy
- Champion a nurturing, inclusive pastoral culture, prioritising emotional well-being, mental health, and social development.
- Act as a strong advocate for SEN students, ensuring their Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) are met and their unique needs are supported.
Staff Development
- Mentor and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-minded team culture.

Community Engagement
- Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to strengthen school support networks.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with Primary/Secondary experience.

Experience working with SEN students, with a deep understanding of their diverse needs.

Strong leadership abilities, including:
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
Preferred (but not essential)
- Postgraduate degree (e.g., Master’s in Education).
- National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).
