About the Role

Sandalwood School is seeking an inspirational and experienced Headteacher to lead our specialist school in Bloxwich, Walsall. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate leader to drive educational excellence, foster a positive school culture, and ensure outstanding outcomes for pupils.

As Headteacher, you will provide strategic leadership and operational management across all aspects of the school. Working closely with the Proprietor and Governance Committee, you will be responsible for shaping the school's vision, maintaining high standards of teaching and learning, and ensuring a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the strategic development and continuous improvement of the school.
  • Promoting a positive culture of high expectations, achievement, and wellbeing.
  • Ensuring outstanding teaching, learning, and curriculum delivery.
  • Championing the needs of pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
  • Leading safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Managing staff recruitment, performance, development, and wellbeing.
  • Overseeing budgets and resources to ensure effective school operations.
  • Building strong partnerships with parents, professionals, and the wider community.
  • Acting as an ambassador for the school and supporting its growth and reputation.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Have substantial leadership experience within an education setting.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of SEND and inclusive education.
  • Be passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Have excellent communication, organisational, and people management skills.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and educational standards.
  • Be committed to developing staff and creating a positive learning environment.
