At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

About Us

We are seeking a knowledgeable, confident Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Wellpet Vets on a full-time basis. We are open to accepting applications from experienced nurses or skilled RVNs looking to take the next step in their career.

At Wellpet Vets, you’ll be joining a close-knit and supportive team of three receptionists, three vets, one RVN, and three SVNs. We take pride in fostering a friendly, collaborative environment where everyone works well together and enjoys both the day-to-day practice life and regular social events outside of work.

  • Work is shared evenly across the team
  • We aim to tailor appointments and surgical cases to individual interests within our vet and nursing teams wherever possible
  • Our practice is well-equipped, with facilities including ultrasound, digital x-ray, and IDEXX in-house laboratory machines

This role is primarily based at our main site in Shenley, with weekend shifts at our consult-only branch in Edgware.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
