Shrewsbury Cathedral Catholic Primary School
The Governors of Shrewsbury Cathedral Catholic Primary School and Nursery, together with the Diocese of Shrewsbury and Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Academy Trust, are seeking to appoint an exceptional, faith-filled, and ambitious Catholic leader to become our next Headteacher.
Situated in the heart of Shrewsbury and serving a wonderfully diverse community, our school is proud to be a place where every child is known, valued, and loved. We are a warm, inclusive Catholic school where strong relationships, high aspirations, and Gospel values shape everything we do.
Our school is built upon a strong ethos of caring, sharing, and service. We work closely with families, the parish, and the wider community to ensure that every child flourishes academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. We are proud of our commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, charitable outreach, and the development of caring, responsible young people who live their faith through action.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
