Headteacher’s PA and SLT Support

Role Description

Provide high-level, confidential personal assistance to the Headteacher Manage the Headteacher’s diary, correspondence, meetings and daily briefings Act as a key point of contact for the Senior Leadership Team and stakeholders Prepare agendas, reports, presentations and high-quality documentation Coordinate SLT meetings, take minutes and support whole-school communications Lead on staff appointments administration, recruitment processes and personnel records Maintain the Single Central Record and manage safer recruitment Support governance by organising governors’ meetings and preparing documentation Oversee the efficient running of the School Office, including line managing administrative staff Liaise with families, staff, governors, external agencies and the wider community with professionalism and diplomacy

Skills Strong administrative and organizational skills, including diary management, record keeping, and document preparation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and reports. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling confidential and sensitive information. Proficiency in common office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email and calendar tools). Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a busy school environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with leadership, staff, learners, families, and external stakeholders. Experience in a school or educational setting, or supporting senior leaders in a complex organization, is highly beneficial. Understanding of safeguarding, data protection, and confidentiality requirements in an educational context. Relevant qualification in administration or business support, or equivalent experience in a similar role. Commitment to the values and ethos of a Catholic academy trust and to inclusive, non-discriminatory practice.
