Health & Safety Advisor – Nuclear North

Location: Heysham (site-based) Type: Full-time

Overview

An experienced Health & Safety Advisor is required to support a Nuclear North team in delivering high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance. This role plays a key part in driving a positive safety culture, providing guidance to site leadership, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive health & safety advice and guidance to Site and Project Managers
  • Work collaboratively as part of an integrated client safety team
  • Support pre-qualification and bid processes across HSEQ
  • Monitor site compliance and recommend improvements
  • Track and report on KPIs
  • Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and POWRA
  • Carry out audits, inspections, and site reviews
  • Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
  • Work with leadership and HR to develop safety initiatives
  • Support subcontractors and suppliers in meeting HSE standards
  • Produce reports and safety performance analyses

  • Knowledge of UK HSE legislation
  • Experience with audits and investigations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • NEBOSH or equivalent qualification preferred
