Health & Safety Advisor – Nuclear North
Location: Heysham (site-based) Type: Full-time
Overview
An experienced Health & Safety Advisor is required to support a Nuclear North team in delivering high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance. This role plays a key part in driving a positive safety culture, providing guidance to site leadership, and ensuring compliance within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive health & safety advice and guidance to Site and Project Managers
- Work collaboratively as part of an integrated client safety team
- Support pre-qualification and bid processes across HSEQ
- Monitor site compliance and recommend improvements
- Track and report on KPIs
- Review Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and POWRA
- Carry out audits, inspections, and site reviews
- Support incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Work with leadership and HR to develop safety initiatives
- Support subcontractors and suppliers in meeting HSE standards
- Produce reports and safety performance analyses

Key Requirements

- Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role
- Knowledge of UK HSE legislation
- Experience with audits and investigations
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- NEBOSH or equivalent qualification preferred
Additional Information
- Site-based role within a nuclear environment
- Travel may be required across additional project sites
