Health & Safety Advisor – CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (London)

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support a global financial services account team based in London, UK.

This is a hybrid role with occasional travel to client sites across EMEA and supporting other global locations.


About the Role

The Health & Safety Advisor will support the Global QHSE Lead and the Manchester-based H&S Advisor, ensuring compliance with H&S standards and fostering a proactive safety culture across numerous client sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the client’s H&S management system and strategy in collaboration with the Global QHSE Lead.
  • Provide competent technical advice and guidance on health and safety matters, responding to queries from the business.
  • Conduct and coordinate risk assessments for general workplaces and specific tasks/events.
  • Design, deliver, and oversee H&S training programmes.
  • Manage the DSE (Display Screen Equipment) Workstation Assessment Programme, including:
    • Ensuring regulatory compliance
    • Managing new and existing users
    • Triaging cases and conducting 1:1 assessments
    • Ordering ergonomic equipment where needed
  • Support emergency preparedness, including:
    • Coordinating emergency drills
    • Maintaining fire marshal and first-aider rosters
    • Delivering related training
  • Maintain H&S management system documentation, procedures, and records.
  • Collect data for H&S performance reports and assist in monthly submissions.
  • Review third-party audit results, analysing findings and ensuring action completion.
  • Oversee accident reporting and participate in investigations as required.
  • Support the Global QHSE Lead in meeting CBRE’s QHSE obligations for the UK & Ireland account team.

Role Requirements

Education

  • A formal Health & Safety Qualification, such as:
    • NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma
    • Or equivalent qualification meeting the standards for Technical or Graduate Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

Experience

  • Strong understanding of the legal H&S and environmental framework (relevant qualifications or professional experience).
  • Practical experience in incident and investigation management.
  • Training programme development and management.
  • DSE assessment programme experience (workstation evaluations, ergonomics).
  • Desirable: 2–3 years in Facilities Management (preferably in the financial sector, property, or broader professional services).

Aptitudes

  • Ability to translate academic skills into workplace application.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including:
    • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • SharePoint
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
  • Creative problem-solving, with an eye for innovative solutions.
