Legal & Professional Services Health & Safety Advisor – Internal Client Services / Facilities Role
About the Role
A proactive and commercially minded Health & Safety Advisor is required to join a leading international law firm, supporting a consistent and effective health and safety programme across UK and international offices. This position sits within the Internal Client Services / Facilities function.
In partnership with Facilities, HR, Office Managers, and senior stakeholders, the successful candidate will ensure compliance, enhance systems, and foster a positive safety culture across a multi-site corporate environment. Ideal for a seasoned H&S professional with proven stakeholder management and experience in office, professional services, or corporate settings.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Operations
- Provide Health & Safety advice and guidance to managers and employees on office operations and contractor activities.
- Monitor and contribute to the health and safety management systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Support UK health and safety compliance and recognised best practice standards.

Facilities & Compliance
- Collaborate with Facilities and Office Management to implement consistent health and safety protocols globally.
- Conduct office inspections, audits, and compliance reviews, tracking and closing actions to completion.
- Prepare H&S reports, dashboards, and trend analyses for senior leadership.
Documentation & Process Support
- Maintain accurate records, including:
- Policies, procedures, and training documentation
- Reporting and incident data
- Support contract management, including RAMS reviews and permit systems.
Incident & Hazard Management
- Investigate incidents and near-miss events, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate H&S training, inductions, and awareness workshops for employees and contractors.
Key Risk Programmes
Assist with:
- DSE and homeworking assessments
- Fire safety arrangements
- Slips, trips, and falls prevention
- Working at height controls
- COSHH awareness (where applicable)
- Water hygiene and legionella prevention (when required)
- Continuous improvement initiatives, including ISO 45001 compliance support
- Legislative updates, ensuring stakeholders are informed of changes

Additional Support
- Contribute to wellbeing, accessibility, and workplace safety initiatives across the business.
- Represent health and safety expertise in cross-functional projects.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent qualification)
- Demonstrated experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in:
- Corporate, office-based, multi-site or professional services environments
- Risk assessments, contractor management, fire safety processes
- Technical expertise in UK health and safety legislation, including:
- Incident reporting (RIDDOR)
- Risk assessment frameworks
- Strong stakeholder influence, organisational skills, and ability to manage multi-priority workloads
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one)
Advantageous
- Pursuing NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
- Experience in international office settings
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 compliance frameworks
