Health and Safety Advisor

Criterion Capital are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to support the effective management of health and safety standards across multiple construction sites. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and subcontractors, you will provide professional advice and guidance to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Building Safety Act 2022 (BSA 2022) and the new regulatory framework. You will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture and supporting site teams through inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Advise and support site teams to ensure construction projects comply with current health and safety legislation, including the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) and the Building Safety Act 2022.
  • On-site Health & Safety Standards: Support Site Managers in maintaining high standards of health and safety on site, ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and hazards are identified and controlled.
  • Site Inspections & Audits: Carry out regular site inspections and audits, providing clear feedback and practical recommendations to address non-compliances and improve safety performance.
  • Risk Assessments & Method Statements: Review, advise on, and assist with the development and implementation of project-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
  • Training & Induction: Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training to site personnel, supporting a strong safety culture across all projects.
  • Accident & Incident Investigation: Support and participate in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring findings are documented, corrective actions are implemented, and lessons learned are shared.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers, providing competent health and safety advice and practical support to help maintain safe working environments.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and the evolving regulatory framework, advising the business on compliance requirements and best practice.
  • Policy & Procedure Support: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety policies and procedures in line with legislation and company standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records, including inspection reports, accident records, training logs, and risk assessments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
