Regional Health and Safety Advisor – Transport
About the Role
Principal People are exclusively recruiting on behalf of a UK Leading Transport organisation a Regional Health and Safety Advisor.
This passionate Health and Safety professional will create safe working environments while building strong operational relationships across multiple locations within the Midlands.
The role combines site-based and home working, with frequent travel to diverse locations. It delivers a varied and engaging workload suited to a collaborative, action-focused individual.
Ideal for a professional who thrives in supporting safety, compliance, and environmental excellence across a dynamic operational landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical health, safety, and environmental (HSE) advice to site management teams on compliance and improvement.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews across multiple regional locations.
- Monitor action completion from audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure resolution.
- Support managers with:
- conducting effective risk assessments
- accident prevention strategies
- maintaining environmental compliance
- Investigate incidents, including accidents, near-misses and environmental events, to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Build strong relationships with operational leadership to foster a positive health and safety culture.
- Embed the company’s HSE Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Health and Safety qualification).
- Operational experience preferred in industries such as Logistics, Transport, Retail, or Manufacturing.
- Prior experience in a health, safety, or HSE role within an operational environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence (essential for travel).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Regional or multi-site role experience is beneficial but not essential.
