We are seeking a talented individual to join our Operational Risk Consulting team at Marsh Risk.
About the Role
As a Health and Safety risk consultant in the Workforce Strategies Team, your role involves providing customized health and safety solutions to a diverse range of clients. These clients can vary in size, ranging from start-ups to large multinational companies, and come from a wide range of industries. You will be working as part of a team to deliver these solutions effectively.
Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK.
Clients and prospects are seeking a more proactive approach to managing risk whereby they reduce their reliance on insurance by preventing and mitigating losses internally to reduce the Total Cost of Risk to their business. You will play a part in winning new business, retaining existing clients and expanding the services Marsh delivers to its clients by providing solutions to health and safety (H&S) challenges while optimising the placement of insurance through a connected service proposition.
This is done by partnering with key client stakeholders to deliver H&S-related solutions which truly benefit them and support both their internal risk management goals which could include national and International Travel
Responsibilities
We will count on you to:
- Improve clients’ risk management through the delivery of tailored health and safety and other risk management programs
- Review clients’ operations to identify and analyse risks to their employees, contractors, visitors and other stakeholders
- Prepare concise and clear reports, both to describe the risk to insurers and to assist clients with risk improvement
- Provide risk management advice and consultancy primarily on health and safety risks
- Identify clients’ potential liability risks and potential solutions
- Identify and develop relationships and opportunities internally and externally to ensure sustained growth for Marsh
- Work with key business leaders in delivering value-added services to clients
- Develop and deliver propositions and solutions in line with client and market needs
- Develop professionally as both a Health and Safety Professional and Consultant
- Grow your personal understanding and knowledge of Risk Management and Insurance

Requirements
What you need to have:
- Minimum of a NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent and working towards diploma level
- Great communicator at all levels and be confident while sympathetic to client’s needs
- Excellent team player and work well both on your own and as part of a delivery team
- Experience in an operational role with H&S responsibilities and management systems
- Conducting audits/surveys with an ability to write and deliver high quality presentations
- Full UK driving licence with an appetite for travel and overnight stays
What makes you stand out?
- Experience in H&S and Risk Management / Consultancy / Operations
- Previous experience as a H&S Consultant/Fire Risk Assessor
- Use of technology platforms to deliver solutions
- IOSH Member working towards Chartered status with desire to develop professionally
- Fleet risk management
- Experience in conducting fire risk assessments in a wide range of premise type and accreditation with a fire institution such as IFSM/IFE/
- Familiarity with the insurance industry focusing on the claims process and how Health and Safety can influence decisions in insurance placement

Hybrid Work Environment
