Job Description

This is a fixed term 12-month contract and will involve some UK wide travel. The role is home based, with work carried out remotely from across the UK.

Salary

£36,000 - £44,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Candidates with developing experience or working towards qualifications will typically be appointed towards the lower end of the scale, with fully qualified and experienced professionals considered at the upper end.

About the Role

Do you have a background in education, care, or a similar, people-focussed sector?

Are you ready to step away from site inspections and checklists into policy writing, digital transformation, and shaping corporate strategy?

This is your opportunity to be pivotal in designing, digitalising, and integrating our ISO45001 management framework across our sector leading educational and residential homes settings. You will play a critical part in the evolution of our health and safety culture and moving from our current paper format into centralised, digital platforms. You will:

  • Design health and safety policies that are fit for our unique care and learning environments
  • Standardise and integrate health and safety as part of our day to day working practices
  • Lead digital transformation of health and safety processes
  • Drive culture change through empowering our staff

Those Huge Small Victories

Here at the Witherslack Group, we strive to change young, vulnerable lives every day - and as the Health and Safety Management Systems Lead, you'll have the chance to help us do just that. In this role, you'll play a vital part in creating safe, healthy, and supportive environments and help us maintain the very highest standards of health and safety. Your expertise will help protect our people and enable brighter futures.

Get out what you put in

You'll work as part of our Group Health and Safety Team and will lead on reviewing and updating our health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments and guidance documentation, ensuring they are clear, practical, and fit for purpose. You will be integral to ensuring processes align with our software systems to streamline user input and enable effective reporting. You'll also research and develop new procedures where risks or gaps are identified, working collaboratively with teams across the Group to improve standards and drive continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
