Health and Safety Management Systems Lead – Fixed Term 12-Month Contract
This home-based role involves remote work across the UK with some UK-wide travel. The position is on a fixed-term contract with a salary range of £36,000 – £44,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Candidates with developing experience or pursuing qualifications will typically be placed at the lower end of the salary scale.
- Fully qualified and experienced professionals will be considered for the upper limit.

- Designing and digitalising our ISO 45001 management framework across sector-leading educational and residential homes settings.
- Leading the transition from paper-based health and safety processes to centralised digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Policy & Procedures
- Design health and safety policies tailored to unique care and learning environments.
- Ensure standardised, integrated health and safety processes into daily operations.

Digital Transformation
- Lead the modernisation of health and safety systems to optimise efficiency and reporting.
- Align legacy processes with software platforms to streamline user input and accurateness.

Culture Change & Engagement
- Train and empower staff, creating engaging health and safety resources and tailored training programmes.
- Organise cross-site reviews to assess current standards and gather valuable stakeholder feedback.

Continuous Improvement
- Review and update policies, risk assessments, and guidance, addressing gaps and innovations.
- Research and develop new procedures collaboratively with Group teams.
Requirements

Experience
- A strong background in health and safety roles with a focus on people-centred environments.
- Confidence in writing policies, risk assessments, and delivering health and safety training.
- Familiarity with health and safety data systems would be advantageous.
- Experience with ISO 45001, education, or care settings preferred.

Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent qualification).

Skills
- Legal knowledge: Full understanding of UK health and safety legislation.
- Attention to detail: Additional focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong abilities in presentation, relationship-building, and team engagement.
- IT competency: Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to adapt to evolving systems.
- Organisational skills: Prioritisation, problem-solving, and adaptability.
- Travel: A valid UK driving licence is required due to necessary UK-wide travel.

- Additional considerations: Certifications in fire safety or environmental management (advantageous but not essential).
