Opportunities Available
We’re seeking a Health & Safety Manager to manage Health & Safety and Facilities activities across multiple locations.
The Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will:
- Ensure that Blatchford’s buildings, infrastructure, plant, and services across the Southern region are safe, compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose.
- Support the Senior Leadership team in delivering the business strategy by:
- Driving consistency and cost-effectiveness through national facilities contracts.
- Promoting a strong health, safety, and compliance culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Health & Safety (H&S) activities across the Southern region, ensuring compliance with:
- Blatchford’s H&S policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Work with the Head of Health, Safety, Environment, and Facilities to foster a positive safety culture across the organisation.
- Develop, organise, and deliver H&S training and awareness programmes.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, including:
- Producing detailed reports.
- Identifying root causes.
- Ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- Manage Occupational Health surveillance, including:
- Coordination, record-keeping, and follow-up actions.
- Hold line management responsibility for Facilities Technicians based in Basingstoke.
- Support H&S and facilities colleagues across additional locations:
- Sheffield, USA, Germany, Norway, and company Joint Ventures.
- Oversee statutory contracts and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Coordinate building maintenance, grounds maintenance, and facilities compliance.
- Manage construction projects, including:
- Refurbishments, relocation of equipment, renovations, and new builds.
- Engage with contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with:
- Risk Assessments (RAMS), permits, monitored performance, and standards.
- Support budget-setting and financial planning for HSE and Facilities-related cost centres.
- Drive cost savings while maintaining service quality and legal compliance.

Who Are We Looking For?
To apply for this Health & Safety Manager role, you must meet the following essential requirements:
- Proven experience in delivering Health & Safety, ideally within a manufacturing or facility-focused environment.
- Hold a NEBOSH Qualification.
- Experience in Facilities Management, including maintenance, compliance, and collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in budget management, balancing cost-effectiveness and operational requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret data and implement improvements.
- Highly organised, structured, and goal-oriented.
- Adaptive and strategic thinker with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Effective communicator with a positive, solutions-focused attitude.
- Full valid UK/EU driving license (orLicense to work in the US/EU as applicable) and willingness to travel:
- Both domestic (UK), international (Europe), and occasionally in the USA.
