About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Health and Safety Manager to lead our H&S function across all UK sites. This is a senior role within the business, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, own our H&S management system, and embed a proactive safety culture at every level of the organisation.

Based primarily at our Lichfield Distribution Centre, you will have line management responsibility for our Health and Safety Officer and act as our competent person for health and safety, working closely with the Board and senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and continuously improve our H&S management system across all UK sites
  • Act as the organisation's competent person for H&S under the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Develop and review all H&S policies, procedures, and safe systems of work in line with UK legislation (including the H&S at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR, COSHH, and CDM)
  • Manage and maintain ISO 45001 (or equivalent) certification, including oversight of audit programmes
  • Oversee risk assessments, incident investigation, and root cause analysis, ensuring lessons are embedded across the business
  • Produce and present H&S performance reports, KPIs, and strategic recommendations to the Board
  • Manage external relationships with the HSE, insurers, certification bodies, and contractors
  • Design and oversee the organisation's H&S training strategy, including inductions and manager-level coaching
  • Manage the H&S Officer, supporting their development and setting clear objectives
  • Hold budget responsibility for H&S expenditure across all UK sites

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
