HSE Manager

Salary: Circa £45,000 Depending on Experience
Location: Portland, Dorset (On-Site)

Join a well-established engineering and construction organisation as an HSE Manager, taking ownership of health, safety and environmental compliance across a diverse range of operational environments.

You will support the development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS), provide expert HSE guidance across the business, and help foster a proactive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and ISO 45001/14001 standards
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop RAMS and support safe systems of work
  • Investigate incidents, manage corrective actions and support RIDDOR reporting
  • Deliver audits, training, inductions and HSE awareness initiatives
  • Support emergency preparedness, contractor management and compliance activities
  • Produce HSE reports and maintain IMS documentation

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Auditing experience within ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 environments
  • Experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction or similar technical sectors
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislation, risk management and compliance
  • Excellent reporting, organisational and communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline
  • NEBOSH Fire and/or Environmental Management qualifications
  • Manufacturing, assembly or inspection environment experience
