About The Role
We are seeking a Health And Safety Specialist (Maternity Cover) to join a manufacturing firm in Hessle. This full-time contract runs until September 2027, offering a salary between £40,000 and £45,000 plus a regular quarterly bonus of up to 5%. Reporting within a wider QHSE department, you will lead the health and safety function autonomously, focusing on low volume, high quality products. Key skills include delivering risk assessments, implementing safety policies, and driving a strong safety culture. The role is site-based, Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times. Immediate availability is preferred for this position.
HSE Recruitment have partnered with a manufacturing company in Hull to find a Health and Safety Specialist for a maternity cover, which will run until September 2027. We are looking for someone who can start asap for this position.
The salary is up to £45,000 + up to 5% quarterly bonus which is regularly paid out.

Working within a HSEQ department and reporting into the QHSE Manager you will:
- To proactively identify issues and solve problems relating to compliance and regulatory matters within the company and lead on health and safety improvements.
- Develop and implement business safety processes and standards.
- Support the Senior Management Team in maintaining a safe working environment, the wellbeing of all employees, visitors and contractor in full compliance with all legal obligations.

What We Are Looking For
- NEBOSH Certificate level qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience with at least 1 years’ experience in a health and safety advisor role within a manufacturing business.
- Immediately available or available at short notice.
- Experience managing electrical safety would be beneficial.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility /versatility combined with initiative, drive, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Approachable, human, and fair with an inherent drive to continuously deliver an exceptional service to colleagues, end users, direct reports, and senior stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a wide variety of key stakeholders.
