Health and Social Care Assessor

Reading and Surrounding Areas | Hybrid working

Full Time & Part Time Available | Permanent

£29,000 - £32,500 per year + bonus + expenses


Essential Criteria

All applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Level 3+ qualification in Health & Social Care
  • Minimum 2 years’ recent experience in Adult Health & Social Care (at Senior Carer level or above)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

  • Existing Health & Social Care Assessor

The Role

An opportunity to support learners working towards apprenticeship qualifications across various workplace settings.

Primary Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting, coaching, and assessing learners to guide them toward developing required knowledge, skills, and behaviours for apprenticeship completion.
  • Working with learners across Reading and surrounding areas, blending remote delivery with planned workplace visits.
  • Managing your workload and diary to meet key performance targets while ensuring continuous learner progress tracking. Note: No learner sourcing is required—all placement articulation is handled.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with learners and employers through regular engagements and reviews
  • Deliver high-quality teaching, coaching, and assessment sessions, aligning to apprenticeship standards
  • Conduct workplace observations to evaluate practical competency
  • Review learner work and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • **Support learners with Functional Skills (Maths & English) where needed
  • Prepare learners for End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Monitor learner progress, ensuring timely achievement of qualifications
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and a safe learning environment at all times
