Health Care Assistant

Laurel Place, Bishop Auckland

Position: Health Care Assistant Care home: Laurel Place Location: Tindale Crescent, Bishop Auckland, DL14 6RG Contract type: Permanent – full-time or part-time (12-hour shifts) Shifts:

  • 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM (Candidates must be flexible for night shifts)

Rate: £14.21 per hour (Increasing to £14.31/hour upon completion of the Exemplar Care Certificate)


About the Role

As a Health Care Assistant at Laurel Place, you’ll support adults living with complex care needs—such as acquired brain injuries, dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health challenges—helping them lead fulfilling lives.

Daily Responsibilities

Your role will be varied and rewarding, but may include:

  • Supporting residents with personal care (bathing, dressing, mobility)
  • Assisting with meal times and ensuring nutritional needs are met
  • Understanding and catering to individual health needs
  • Encouraging social engagement through in-home and community activities
  • Promoting dignity, independence, and choice
  • Accurately recording and updating care plans
