HEALTH CARE SUPPORT WORKER BAND 3

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP ON THIS ROLE.

We have a fantastic job opportunity for a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker within our Neighbourhood Mental Health Team. We are offering a permanent full-time post working from Monday to Friday 9.00-17.00. The post is for North West Leicestershire NMHT, based at the Hawthorn Centre in Coalville.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who would be able to work autonomously within a wider Community Mental Health team. We are looking for an individual who is committed to provide the best possible care to our client group and will demonstrate our Trust values in their everyday work.

The team consists of qualified and unqualified nursing staff, Consultant Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Community connectors and Admin staff. We have close links with GPs and community health services, other Mental Health services and Social Services. We work in a multi-disciplinary way, and we have a holistic recovery focused approach to our care provision.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)

The successful candidate will be supporting clients/service users in maintaining their health and wellbeing, undertaking specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities under the supervision of healthcare professionals, in addition to assisting the healthcare team with the planning, organising and provision of clinical care.

The post holder will also be tasked with ensuring high standards are maintained in a safe environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals, assisting Registered Professionals in the implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans and accurately recording patient information, providing support and supervision to other colleagues and learners as appropriate.

Our Health Care Support Workers are valued members of the team, and we will expect you to:

  • Work alongside your team members to contribute to the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Work under indirect supervision of qualified professionals
  • Carry out delegated tasks as identified by the qualified professionals in the care plan.
  • Support patients to maintain their health and well-being and support their carers
  • Undertake specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities
  • Ideally be ECG and phlebotomy trained or be willing to undertake these courses.
