Join our Outpatient Department: Health Care Assistant Vacancy

Play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care. We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Health Care Assistant to support our senior outpatient clinical team, ensuring a first-class experience for every patient attending our centre.

About the Role

In this varied and hands-on position, you will collaborate with registered nurses and consultants across our Outpatient Diagnostic and Treatment Centres (ODTCs). Your contributions will span the full spectrum of patient care, including:

  • Chaperoning consultations
  • Assisting with minor procedures
  • Managing wound care
  • Conducting venepuncture
  • Preparing patients for pre-operative screening
  • Applying splints and supports

Additionally, you will assist across key diagnostic departments, such as ultrasound, MRI, and X-ray, ensuring smooth and safe clinic operations.

• Maintain high clinical standards through:

  • Performing essential governance checks
  • Ensuring accurate patient records
  • Supporting stock management
  • Keeping consulting and treatment rooms clean, safe, and well-prepared

• Collaborate seamlessly with the Front of House team and the wider outpatient team to deliver efficient, patient-centred care.

Requirements

Essential
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • IT literate with confident computer skills
  • Completed phlebotomy training with current clinical practice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable
  • Previous experience in a similar healthcare role (NHS or private)
  • Experience working in an outpatient environment
  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of orthopaedic policies, procedures, and Health & Safety
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
