Healthcare Support Worker – Gynaecology Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Outpatient
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our friendly and supportive Gynaecology Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Outpatient team.
Our Gynaecology SDEC is a nurse-led unit, currently co-located with the Discharge Lounge, providing assessment and treatment for women with acute gynaecological conditions. The unit comprises nine treatment chairs/trolleys and two en-suite cubicles for patients requiring assessment, emergency care, or same-day treatment.
As part of our small, dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care in a busy and rewarding environment. We are committed to supporting staff development and offer a range of learning opportunities, including clinical skills training and ongoing professional development, to help you grow within your role and career.
Responsibilities
- Support the multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Duties include undertaking clinical observations, assisting with examinations and procedures, preparing clinic areas, maintaining equipment and stock, supporting patient flow, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Provide compassionate support to patients.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Adhere to infection prevention, safeguarding, and confidentiality standards.
