£26,000 – £28,500 (Based on Experience)


Why This Role Is a Game-Changer

As a Health Claims Handler, you’ll be the trusted point of contact for our members navigating international medical claims. From initial notification to final reimbursement, you’ll ensure every claim is handled with care, accuracy, and efficiency.

You’ll work closely with our Medical and Preauthorisation teams, assess coverage, liaise with providers, and deliver exceptional service across phone, email, and digital platforms. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love helping people, this is your moment to shine.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process claims in line with policy terms, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes.
  • Communicate with members, providers, underwriters, and internal teams to resolve queries and provide updates.
  • Ensure treatments meet accepted medical standards and costs are reasonable and customary.
  • Respond to inbound calls, emails, and digital messages with empathy and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and manage your workload effectively.
  • Escalate complex cases, potential fraud, or complaints to the appropriate teams.
  • Contribute to process improvements and help shape the future of our claims operations.

Requirements

Essential Skills

  • High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
  • Calm, diplomatic, and professional under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to manage workloads independently and within a team.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in healthcare, travel, medical, pet, or personal accident claims.
  • Familiarity with private or international medical insurance.
  • Experience managing claim reserves and producing claims reports.
  • Additional language skills (especially German or Spanish) are a plus!
