Health Club Host at Soho House

At Soho House, a Health Club Host is the face of the fitness area, providing a warm welcome, excellent service, and continuous support to ensure members and guests enjoy a clean, safe, and motivating workout environment.

This role blends hospitality and operational support—helping members feel at ease, offering guidance on equipment, and ensuring the gym floor is immaculately maintained.

Key Duties

  • CustomerwelcomeGuidance

    • Welcome every member and guest by name with warmth and professionalism.
    • Address inquiries and requests friendly, efficiently, and promptly.
    • Offer basic guidance on equipment usage and club rules (avoid personal training unless qualified).
  • Member Support

    • Resolve issues in real time and ensure management are aware of any concerns.
    • Build and nurture relationships with members and guests, sharing feedback and red flags.
    • Encourage a positive, inclusive, and respectful workout atmosphere.
  • Operational Responsibilities

    • Maintain the gym floor immaculately: wipe down machines, restock towels, and manage equipment placement.
    • Support fitness instructors and personal trainers (e.g., class setups, member handovers).
    • Uphold discretion and professionalism, especially when serving VIPs and Private Members/Kitchen Staff (PKWs).
    • Assist with bookings, class sign-ups, and fitness service inquiries.

What We Are Looking For

A successful Health Club Host at Soho House should ideally:

  • Have up to 2 years’ experience in a busy, high-profile venue with a passion for first-class hospitality.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments, solving problems quickly and confidently.
  • Be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service, and respectful towards colleagues and guests.
  • Demonstrate competency through training simulations (Club School).
  • Work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required.
  • Demonstrate adaptability: follow direction, collaborate in a team, and operate independently.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • Must meet health and safety standards for a health/fitness environment.

Salary & Location

  • Pay Range (UK): £15.50 per hour (please note, all roles are paid hourly under UK law, and rates may vary by geography).
