We are looking for a Health Economic Expert who is analytical, collaborative, and motivated to shape payer‑relevant health economic value strategies and deliverables that support UCB assets across mid‑ to late‑stage development and commercial launch to join our Data and Evidence Strategy, based in Slough UK, or Brussels Belgium
About the Role
As the Health Economic Expert, you will develop health economic and payer evidence strategies / deliverables that demonstrate the full value of UCB’s in‑development and marketed assets. As part of the health economic strategy team, you will lead/support the design, execution, and communication of global health economic deliverables—including economic models, evidence reviews, comparative analyses, and payer‑focused publications. This role directly supports UCB’s ambition to deliver differentiated, patient‑focused solutions while enabling market access across global regions.
Who You’ll Work With
- Collaborate closely with clinical development, medical affairs, global statistics, commercial teams, publication leads, payer asset teams, and the broader Global Payer and HTA community.
- Partner with external experts, researchers, and vendors to deliver high‑quality economic evidence that supports reimbursement, HTA submissions, and payer decision‑making.
What You’ll Do
- Lead/support the development of health economic strategic plans and deliverables supporting payer value narratives across UCB assets.
- Design, develop, and implement global health economic research projects to demonstrate clinical, humanistic, and economic value.
- Partner with Patient Solutions and cross‑functional teams to integrate health‑economics endpoints into clinical and observational studies.
- Collaborate on defining analyses for economic parameters in clinical trials and coordinate work with statistical programmers.
- Develop payer‑relevant evidence packages and core global economic models enabling market access across geographies.
- Conduct and coordinate HTA‑relevant literature reviews, meta‑analyses, and indirect comparisons to inform evidence needs.
- Critically appraise clinical and economic evidence to assess suitability for global value dossiers, HTA tools, and economic models.
- Support affiliates in tailoring global economic models and deliverables for local reimbursement negotiations.
- Communicate economic findings and value messages through internal briefings, global value dossiers, publications, and scientific forums.
- Contribute to optimizing clinical development programs to ensure payer‑relevant endpoints and study designs meet evidence needs.
- Partner with Integrated Strategic Evidence Generation (ISEG) teams to ensure payer and HE requirements are embedded across programs.
- Serve as a health‑economics subject matter expert, advancing methodologies, competitive insights, and best practices across UCB.

Interested?
For this role we’re looking for:
- Experience in a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment (industry or consulting).
- Ability to design and implement health economic strategies and translate evidence into payer‑relevant insights.
- Understanding of global healthcare ecosystems and HTA processes across EU and international markets.
- Strong analytical, communication, project‑management, and evidence‑synthesis skills.
- Preferred: advanced degree (e.g., MSc, PhD, MD, PharmD) and experience with product launches or neurology assets.
- Early stage asset development experience
