Health & Safety Advisor - 12-18 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Hull
Salary: Up to £45,000 + 25 days holiday plus bank holidays + Private Medical Insurance + Bonus + Excellent Pension + Life Assurance
Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Hull that we have partnered with, is seeking a proactive and dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on a 12-18 month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping and maintaining a safe and compliant working environment while supporting the business through an exciting period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business safety processes and standards to ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
- Support the Senior Management Team and Quality, Health & Safety Manager in ensuring a safe working environment for employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Proactively identify and resolve compliance and regulatory issues within the business.
- Assist in the development and review of H&S policies, ensuring consistent implementation across the company.
- Lead regular Health and Safety meetings and initiatives to promote a strong safety culture.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies where necessary.
- Monitor, evaluate, and review existing, new, and upcoming H&S legislation, ensuring company policies remain compliant.
- Investigate accidents and incidents thoroughly to prevent reoccurrence.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections, driving continuous improvement in H&S practices.
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure proper training, supervision, and provision of essential PPE for onsite engineers and contractors.
- Support the delivery of an effective H&S training programme in line with legal requirements.
- Manage regulator visits and inspections in collaboration with the maintenance team.

What We’re Looking For:
- NEBOSH General Certificate qualification (desirable).
- Strong knowledge of H&S legislation, risk management, and compliance.
- Understanding of workplace wellbeing initiatives and their impact on business performance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence key stakeholders at all levels.
- Previous experience working as H&S Coordinator, H&S Advisor or a passionate HSE Administrator looking for the next step up.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently to meet deadlines.
- Passionate about promoting a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing within the organisation.
