HEALTH & SAFETY ADVISOR NIGHT SHIFT

Organisation Information:

Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O’Rourke, two of Europe’s most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion. Bylor are pushing the boundaries of innovation and modern technology while delivering high quality construction on a massive scale. Bylor have already broken the UK record for the largest continuous concrete pour of 9,000m3 of concrete. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic organisation that is challenging the industry and making history.

Purpose of the Role:

To support the Health & Safety Manager to ensure the project teams are following health & safety regulations, legislation and policies and minimising occupational risk on site.

Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:

  • Responsible for guiding and supporting allocated project teams in the implementation of the Bylor behavioural programme
  • Required to guide and support allocated project teams by giving robust HS&E advice and able to coach in HS&E matters.
  • Identify hazards or deficiencies, rate and rank risk to enable effective evaluation and communication of any required actions
  • Conduct inspections and audits of projects, establishments and offices, and ensure these are undertaken in compliance with the compliance monitoring programme.
  • Carry out investigations and produce thorough and comprehensive reports that address the underlying issues and not just the end result (i.e the injury/damage)
  • Monitor compliance and ensure project teams are implementing the relevant parts of the Bylor safety management systems (SMS) and identify corrective action where required.
  • Coach the project teams in key HSE project risks and solutions
  • Conduct HSE subcontractor assessments and input into work winning tenders
  • Incorporating the behavioural tools as part of a continuous improvement cycle.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
