About the Role

At Babcock, we’re committed to creating a safe and secure world, together. If you join our team, you’ll play a crucial role as a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor at our Rosyth site.

  • Support risk assessments and review safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with company standards and UK legislation.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project teams to implement safety improvements and foster a positive safety culture.

This role operates on a full-time basis (37 hours per week) with hybrid working arrangements, requiring a minimum of three days onsite per week at Rosyth.

  • Proven experience in a health, safety, and environmental advisory role within a high-risk industry, such as:
    • Marine
    • Shipbuilding
    • Engineering
    • Power generation
    • Manufacturing
    • Construction
  • Ability to influence operational teams and managers effectively to manage risk and uphold safe working practices.

  • Experience investigating incidents and near misses, including root cause analysis and corrective action management.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation within a highly regulated environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
