Health + Safety Compliance Manager
Location: Glasgow, London, Lowestoft
Salary:
- Base salary from £82,400
- Up to 30% bonus

About the Role
The Principal Electrical Safety Compliance Manager provides strategic leadership and governance for offshore electrical safety across the Offshore Business, operating as a senior subject matter authority within the Health & Safety Compliance function.
This role is responsible for:
- Defining and overseeing the development, implementation, and continual improvement of electrical safety standards, rules, and assurance processes.
- Ensuring high-voltage electrical safety is governed consistently across projects and operational assets.
- Aligning with internal governance, applicable legislation, statutory obligations, recognised industry standards, and good practice.
- Strengthening organisational capability, assurance maturity, and electrical safety culture.
Responsibilities
You will drive the following key areas:
- Strategic Leadership: Define and deliver the electrical safety strategy and governance framework across the Offshore Business.
- Project and Operational Alignments: Ensure robust application of high-voltage safety rules across all projects and operational sites.
- Assurance Frameworks: Oversee authorisation, competency, and assurance frameworks for critical electrical safety roles.
- Collaborative Tools: Enable projects and operational teams with effective tools, systems, and procedures for electrical safety requirements.
- Lifecycle Integration: Lead integration of electrical safety considerations throughout the full lifecycle (design → construction → commissioning → operations → maintenance).
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements by capturing and embedding lessons learned from audits, incidents, inspections, and operational feedback.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key representative, engaging with senior stakeholders, project leadership, contractors, regulators, and industry bodies.

Requirements
You must bring extensive knowledge and experience:
- Industry-Specific Expertise: Proven experience in electrical safety management in high-voltage environments, ideally within offshore wind, power transmission, substations, or similar industrial settings.
- Regulatory Compliance: In-depth understanding of electrical safety rules, switching/isolation principles, permit-to-work systems, hazard identification, risk management, incident learning, assurance processes, and statutory compliance.
- Technical Translation: Ability to interpret complex engineering and compliance requirements and translate them into clear governance, standards, and practical strategies.
- Framework Development: Experience in developing governance frameworks, procedures, competency arrangements, audit programs, and compliance assurance processes.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills with credibility to operate effectively in international matrix environments.
- Reporting & Analytics: Proficiency in Microsoft Office with confidence in preparing high-quality reports, senior management presentations, governance papers, and action plans.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages are beneficial.
