New Job Opportunity - HSE Advisor - 2 year PAYE Contract - Based in Barrow-In-Furness
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Contract: 2 years Inside IR35
Rate: Negotiable PAYE
Hybrid: 4 days on site, 2 days home
Start date: October 2026
Job Overview
The HSE Advisor Onshore provides direct, sustainable, and reliable HSE support, guidance, and appropriate challenge to operations in support of the Morecambe Hub assets.
Key Accountabilities
Key Role Deliverables
- Act as a role model for Our Clients Life Saving Rules, House Rules, and HSE Expectations, promoting a proactive and generative HSE culture through visible HSE leadership.
- Provide support to the Morecambe Hub assets through:
- HSE training delivery
- Accident and incident investigations
- System audits
- Advice on HSE best practice
- Assist in monitoring and reporting HSE performance across operations, identifying performance trends and driving continuous improvement.
- Take responsibility for delivering actions identified within HSE improvement plans.
- Support the maintenance of a positive safety culture across operational assets and behavioural safety tools used throughout the field.
- Manage and support the maintenance of emergency response plans for operational assets, including arranging exercises to test their effectiveness.
- Support preparation for regulatory interventions and audits to ensure compliance, contributing to resulting action plans where required.
- Ensure Safety Case and/or COMAH Report requirements are maintained within operations and that any modifications or changes to operational practices are assessed against these requirements before implementation.
- Review work packs to ensure content and suitability prior to commencement of work.
- Ensure supply chain and contract management expectations are communicated to and understood by relevant third parties and stakeholders, actively monitoring engagement during contract execution.
- Act as a Lead Investigator using Kelvin TopSet investigation techniques to support business requirements.
- Undertake any other associated duties as reasonably required.

Technical Skills
- Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing pragmatic solutions while influencing stakeholders to achieve consensus.
- Previous experience working within an HSE and/or technical role or team.
- Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance, and emergency response requirements and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and auditors.
Qualifications
Essential
- NEBOSH Certificate (minimum requirement).
- Offshore BOSIET and Medical certification.
- Experience in event management and investigation methodologies such as Kelvin TopSet.
Desirable
- NEBOSH Diploma.
- Professional membership of a relevant institute or actively working towards membership (e.g. IOSH).
