Health & Safety and Environment Advisor

Purpose of Role
We are recruiting for an experienced HSE Advisor to support the delivery of a wide range of construction and project frameworks across London and the South East. This role will support short-term project works secured through ongoing tender frameworks, covering sectors including aviation, commercial, retail, education, residential, science and technology, facilities management, and defence.
Job Description
Projects can range from smaller reactive and refurbishment works through to major construction projects valued up to £20 million. Typical projects have included works at Heathrow Airport, the Science Museum in London, defence sector projects, residential developments, and FM-led construction works across retail, education, and commercial environments. This is a site-based role where you will work closely with operational teams, project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure the safe and compliant delivery of works across multiple live environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical HSE support and advice across construction and project activities
- Support compliance with CDM regulations and current health & safety legislation
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews across multiple project locations
- Review RAMS, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Promote a strong health & safety culture across project and operational teams
- Support project managers and site teams with compliance and best practice guidance
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors regarding HSE performance
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with company procedures

Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum 5 years’ practical experience delivering Health & Safety advice within a CDM environment
- Strong understanding of construction health & safety requirements across live operational environments
- IOSH certified
- Minimum Level 6 qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
- Experience supporting projects across multiple sectors and fast-paced construction environments
- Comfortable travelling across London and the South East on a daily basis
- Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain SC Clearance where required for project works
