Health, Safety & Facility Manager

Job Description

The position of Health, Safety, and Facility Manager will lead the delivery of health, safety, and facility management across 3 UK sites. The role is responsible for ensuring legal compliance, driving continuous improvement in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) performance, and embedding a strong safety culture across the organisation. This position will act as the subject matter expert for all health, safety, and facility-related matters.


What You’ll Do

Health & Safety Leadership

  • Oversee the H&S team across 3 UK sites (Manchester, Wotton, UKBC) and drive team development.
  • Act as the competent person under the Health & Safety at Work Act.
  • Lead the H&S strategy and continuous improvement roadmap, ensuring up-to-date legal compliance across all UK sites.
  • Provide expert advice to the site leadership team on risk and compliance.
  • Oversee preparation of corporate H&S assessments/management plans.

Incident & Audit Management

  • Support and lead responses to customer & corporate ESG group requests for information.
  • Manage and ensure timely completion of incident investigations and reporting by line managers.
  • Coordinate internal audits of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, & H&S compliance.

Training & Communication

  • Develop H&S communications and training content.
  • Provide updates on health & safety KPI data (accidents, incidents, and near-miss reporting).
  • Oversee Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and risk assessments.
  • Lead monthly health & safety meetings as part of the health & safety committee.

Facility Management & Compliance

  • Hold responsibility for Facility Management across all sites.
  • Oversee maintenance, compliance, and contractor management, including business continuity planning (BCP)".
  • Manage site infrastructure changes and layout planning.
  • Assess requirements and provide Risk Assessments & Method Statement (RAMS) / Permits to Work for Manchester, while supporting UK HSE representatives at Wotton and UKBC.
  • Arrange external inspections (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, fire risk assessments, insurance visits).

Training & Regulatory Coordination

  • Organize and conduct HSE-based training including:
    • Manual handling
    • Forklift training (FLT)
    • Working at height
    • IPAF certification
    • First aid
    • Fire marshal training

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualification & Competencies

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable)
  • Membership of IOSH (preferred)

Experience & Skills

  • Strong leadership capabilities and experience working with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and driving results.
  • Results-driven with a successful track record in achieving H&S objectives.
  • Ability to interpret and present data (health & safety metrics, incident reporting).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Experience in training, auditing, and compliance within Health & Safety.
  • Multi-site experience (essential).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Assurance and ISO 13485 (Medical Devices Quality Management) standards.
  • Positive and optimistic in a fast-growing organisation.
