Are you passionate about creating safe, healthy, and compliant workplaces?

Do you have the confidence to influence positive behaviours and foster a strong safety culture in the bus industry?

Nottingham City Transport is looking for an experienced and proactive Health & Safety professional to lead its Health and Safety department.

Based in Nottingham, this is a standalone role with real autonomy. You'll take ownership of our health and safety function across all our sites, working alongside managers and colleagues from every part of the business. Some things are well established, others need developing, and you'll be trusted to identify opportunities, find practical solutions and make things happen.

If you're the sort of person who enjoys solving problems, making things happen, thrives on variety and isn't put off when everything isn't already in place, we'd love to hear from you.

Closing date for applications: 27 July 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional health and safety advice and guidance to managers and employees across all sites.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; producing reports and implementing preventative measures.
  • Support the development, review, and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices.
  • Deliver engaging health and safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards.
  • Analyse safety performance data and trends; providing recommendations to improve outcomes.
  • Work in collaboration with operational teams to promote a positive and proactive safety culture.
  • Assist with regulatory inspections and liaise with external agencies where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
