Health & Safety Manager
Health & Safety Manager - Glasgow, UK

Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in line with UK legislation and industry standards.
- To provide assistance with the upkeep the management systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and UKAS 17020.
- Conduct risk assessments and site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Provide expert advice and support to project teams, management, and staff on health and safety matters.
- Coordinate and deliver health and safety training sessions to promote a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices within the industry.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies and ensure compliance during audits and inspections.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety standards and organisational culture.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in health and safety management within the construction or infrastructure sector.
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification; NEBOSH Diploma is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging health and safety training programmes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Technical proficiency with health and safety management systems and relevant software tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry standards.
