Job Title: Health, Safety & Environment Manager, UK

Purpose:
To support NORMA UK by using knowledge and skill to promote a positive health & safety culture in the workplace. To oversee the environmental performance of the Company and for developing, implementing and monitoring environmental strategies that promote sustainable development.
Responsibilities:
- To carry out risk assessments, considering how risks can be reduced in all aspects of a production and office environment e.g., fire, noise, safe use of equipment etc.
- To outline safe operational procedures, working with both OEL’s and production supervision to identify risks and hazards.
- To prepare Health & safety strategies and develop internal policy.
- To identify site training requirements, leading in-house training where appropriate.
- To lead accident and incident investigations, liaising with first aider employees and coordinating any NQR actions.
- To record incident and accident issues liaising with the Senior Management Team and HSE where necessary.
- To work with Production and Maintenance departments to ensure the safe installation of new and repaired equipment, including making any necessary changes to working practices that are safe and comply with legislation.
- To carry out regular site inspections to check policy and procedure introduction and adherence.
- To manage and organise the safe disposal of any hazardous substances.
- To manage the Value Based Safety procedure, ensuring a robust process compliments the risk assessment procedure.
- To maintain a data base of legal and best practice information including maintaining individual continuous professional development.
- To oversee the use of environmental resources within the organisation including water, gas, monitoring usage and preparing KPI information.
- To develop schemes for recycling, pollution reduction and pollution prevention.
- To ensure compliance with environmental legislation.

Requirements:

- NEBOSH qualified
- A natural facilitator and coach, with previous experience in a production environment.
- Computer literate with understanding PC systems, MS – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Internet etc.

- Flexible team player within own department and across all other departments
- Flexible attitude with ability to motivate others
- Ability to prioritise and make decisions.
