Health & Safety Manager
Health & Safety Manager (Dungannon)
cumulation Dunbia (UK) based at our Dungannon facility is seeking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to provide leadership, governance, and assurance.
About the Role
As a critical component of the Dungannon site management, this position offers a unique opportunity to drive a strong health and safety culture within the manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will lead all health and safety functions, ensure compliance with legal requirements, and champion continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate should hold a NEBOSH qualification and have extensive experience in managing safety across food manufacturing or industrial environments.
Responsibilities
The senior H&S Manager will be accountable for:

Occupational Health & Safety Management
- Maintain and continually enhance the site’s health and safety system in compliance with ISO 45001, Group standards, and on-going legislation.
- Oversee the implementation of all health and safety policies and procedures.

Incident, Accident Investigation & Claims Management
- Lead investigations of all incidents, accidents, and claims with root-cause analysis.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely reporting.

Performance Management
- Establish, monitor, and report on health and safety KPIs (leading and lagging indicators).
- Execute targeted improvement plans and accountable safety initiatives.

Risk Assessment, Auditing & Compliance
- Conduct regular risk assessments and review existing documentation.
- Lead the site’s comprehensive audit program, prepare for external inspections, and maintain compliance.

Contractor Management & Control of Work
- Manage contractor health and safety pre-qualification, onboarding, and compliance.
- Ensure robust management of permit-to-work systems and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures.

Regulatory & Stakeholder Liaison
- Function as the key liaison with regulatory bodies (HSENI/HSE) and other stakeholders.
- Support inspections, investigations, and escalation processes with actionable feedback.

Emergency Preparedness
- Develop, update, and rehearse emergency response plans (e.g., fire, chemical, major incident).
- Ensure effective drills, resolution of emerging risks, and sustained compliance.

Operational Support & Implementation
- Provide day-to-day input on workplace safety measures, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with HR on issues relating to occupational health, fitness-for-work assessments, and employee safety oversight.

Training, Communication & Culture
- Deliver workplace safety training and ensure all mandatory health and safety training is completed.
- Foster a proactive safety culture, driving clear communication and encouraging accountability.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- 5+ years of experience in managing health and safety in food manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK and Northern Ireland health and safety legislation.
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in people leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
- A relevant third-level qualification and the NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
Desirable
- Additional education: NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6.
- Experience with SMETA and ethical trading standards.
- Hands-on operational experience in food manufacturing.
- Tracing pathway toward Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH).
