Location: Torr Works Quarry, UK Type: Permanent, Site-based Role

The Opportunity

Holcim is seeking a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Compliance Manager to join the team at Torr Works Quarry.

This permanent, site-based role involves collaborating with operational leaders to:

  • Promote a positive safety culture
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in sustainability and workplace safety

Ideal for an experienced Health & Safety professional who thrives at the intersection of strategic planning and operational delivery. The role allows you to:

  • Influence long-term improvement projects
  • Guide site teams in compliance and risk management
  • Develop procedures and training programmes
  • Conduct audits, investigations, and inspections

This position offers meaningful impact across multiple functions.


Responsibilities

Key Duties

  • Support and implement SHE strategies, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site
  • Provide specialist SHE guidance to operational teams, ensuring compliance with:
    • Legislation
    • Company standards
    • Integrated management systems
  • Lead audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring thorough follow-up
  • Develop SHE procedures, guidelines, and training programs in collaboration with operational teams
  • Engage internal stakeholders, contractors, enforcement agencies, and local communities to foster positive communication and engagement

Requirements

Essential Criteria

  • Deep understanding of current Health & Safety legislation in industrial/operational settings
  • Strong ability to communicate complex information clearly and collaboratively
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships at all organisational levels
  • Excellent organisational skills, managing multiple priorities while ensuring precision and compliance
  • Experience in supporting audits, investigations, and continuous improvement activities
  • Proactive approach to process and workplace culture enhancement
