The salary scale for a Band 3 has been adjusted as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2026/2027 and will be implemented in August 2026 backdated to 01 April 2026 where applicable.

An exciting and diverse role which focusses on supporting health & safety in our services, are you the dynamic person we are looking for to join our team?
With responsibility for investigations, risk assessment, incident response and standards auditing, are you looking for a health & safety role which will encourage you to develop and expand your skills.
Focussing on safety & health standards within our services, this interesting and diverse role will also require the successful candidate to manage day to day enquiries in relation to health & safety and fire safety issues across NWSSP, deputising for the Health and Safety Manager where required.
The role will also require the successful candidate to carry out health and safety site visits/inspections across Wales, using the established framework. Coordinating meetings, preparing papers and agendas for the health and safety groups, and chair some group meetings in the absence of the NWSSP Health and Safety Manager.
Main duties of the job
NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to help us on our journey to continually improve the safety performance throughout the organisation.
With a fair and balanced approach, the post holder will undertake investigations and produce comprehensive investigation reports as and when required, along with managing user access to the NWSSP Datix Cymru system - producing dashboards and reports as and when required.
The role will involve some requirement for travel to NWSSP and other locations across the whole of Wales.
Reporting to the NWSSP Health & Safety Manager, we are looking for a confident health & safety professional who holds a NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum and who has experience of health & safety management.

Qualifications And / Or Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Degree in business administration or management related subject or equivalent experience.
- NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent experience
- Microsoft intermediate qualification in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint or equivalent knowledge
Desirable criteria
- Familiarisation with claims management processes
- Risk Management Qualification
- Strong knowledge of NHS support services functions, including warehousing & distribution
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in an administrative capacity is required
- Experience of providing training on processes in a one- to-one setting
- Substantial experience in a health & safety support role
- Verbal & written communications with the ability to write complex reports which may be shared externally
- Experience of working in an environment under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Ability to be adaptable and innovative with a problem-solving approach, applying theoretical knowledge to a wide range of practical situations.
