The role
What will you be doing?
At Unum, we're committed to helping businesses and their employees thrive through leading employee benefits solutions. As part of our growing Unum Dental team, we're looking for a relationship-focused Sales Consultant to help strengthen our market presence, develop key intermediary partnerships and deliver sustainable business growth.
What will you bring?
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building trusted relationships, developing new business opportunities and influencing outcomes through a consultative approach. You'll manage a panel of approximately 10 key brokers, becoming their trusted partner and helping them identify opportunities across Health product range.
Working closely with the National Sales Manager, you'll be given excellent exposure across the sales lifecycle, from broker development and quotation activity through to implementation and ongoing relationship management.
What will you be doing?
As a Sales Consultant, you'll play a key role in supporting and developing our broker distribution strategy by:
- Managing and developing relationships with a designated panel of key brokers to maximise new business opportunities.
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for brokers, providing proactive support, training and market insights.
- Creating and maintaining strong broker engagement plans, including regular face-to-face meetings and field visits.
- Managing the end-to-end quotation process, ensuring requests are progressed efficiently and followed through to conclusion.
- Supporting the delivery of new business sales and coordinating seamless handovers to Account Management and Operations.
- Identifying opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell activity across the Unum Dental product range.
- Monitoring market activity, competitor movements and emerging trends to support business growth.
- Managing broker Terms of Business Agreements (TOBAs) and supporting tender and proposal activity when required.
- Maintaining accurate pipeline, forecasting and sales activity records through Salesforce.
- Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Operations and Account Management.

What We're Looking For
We're excited to speak to candidates who have experience working with brokers and can demonstrate a strong track record of relationship management.
You'll Ideally Have
- Experience managing and developing broker, intermediary or B2B client relationships.
- The confidence to build credibility quickly and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A strong customer focused and commercially minded approach.
- Experience within insurance, employee benefits, healthcare, dental, financial services or another intermediary-led market.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both virtually and face-to-face.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- An understanding of the employee benefits, healthcare or dental market would be advantageous.

Essential Travel Requirement
This position involves regular travel to broker offices, client meetings and industry events across your assigned territory. As a result, a UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly are essential requirements for the role.
