Current Opportunity

Position: Observation Assessor (Health & Social Care)

Location: Field-based (Travel required) Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive + travel expenses + outstanding benefits

Are you passionate about raising standards in Health & Social Care and enabling others to thrive?

We’re seeking a motivated, dynamic Observation Assessor to join our dedicated Health & Social Care Apprenticeship team. This role involves traveling across your designated region to observe learners in real-world settings, ensuring they meet apprenticeship standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting holistic in-person learner assessments in workplace settings.
  • Providing constructive, actionable feedback to support progression.
  • Planning and executing observations (target: 3 learners/day on average).
  • Managing travel efficiently to balance scheduling and learning objectives.
  • Ensuring assessments align with Ofsted, awarding body, and internal standards.
  • Supporting supplementary activities like mock assessments, professional discussions, and learner reviews.
  • Upholding safeguarding and wellbeing protocols for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field-based assessments: Visiting workplaces to evaluate learner performance against apprenticeship standards.
  • Learner support: Delivering positive reinforcement and mentorship for continuous improvement.
  • Admin & compliance: Ensuring documentation meets quality, legal, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborative support: Partnering with managers, stakeholders, and other colleagues to drive consistency.

Requirements

Core Qualifications & Experience

  • A dedicated professional in Health & Social Care, with:
    • Minimum 2 years experience at Senior Carer level or above (preferably in adult or elderly care).
    • Expertise in Dementia and Learning Disabilities.
  • A qualifying Health & Social Care certification at Level 5.
  • A valid Assessor qualification (e.g., D32/D33, A1, TAQA, or CAVA).
  • Evidence of work-based learning or teaching experience (desirable but not mandatory at minimum level).

Technical & Soft Skills

  • IT proficiency: Confident with internal systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communications: Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to build rapport with learners, employers, and stakeholders.
  • Safeguarding awareness: Commitment to maintaining a secure and supportive environment.

Additional Conditions

  • Personal transport, broadband, and business-use car insurance required.
  • Satisfactory DBS and References required for employment.
