NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Role

We are fully committed to the key ambition and aims of Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC), to provide children and young people with the best possible start in life. Working within the Children and Families Health Visiting team, you will be expected to contribute to working with colleagues both from health and partner organisations to support families. You will be expected to provide the highest quality, needs led, evidence-based care within a designated caseload.

We are committed to supporting and developing our staff, facilities and services to provide the highest standard of care. We currently have 1 permanent post. This post provides an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to children and young people’s lives and to work in a dynamic environment. We are committed to fully inducting our staff and to providing them with various training and shadowing opportunities within the multi-agency team.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • This is a part-time permanent post of 21.6 hours per week
  • Please note that salary is Pro Rata for part-time posts
  • Based at Pollokshaws Clinic, 35 Wellgreen, Pollokshaws, Glasgow G43 1RR
  • The shift pattern is Monday to Friday
  • This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland check

Minimum Requirements

  • Registered Health Visitor/Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • IT skills-word processing/email/internet
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Car driver
