The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a Health Visitor within our Children and Families Service. As a key member of the public health nursing workforce, you will play a vital role in supporting children and families from the antenatal period through to school entry age. Working autonomously and in partnership with families, communities and multi-agency colleagues, you will promote health, wellbeing and positive outcomes for children. You need to have a live NMC UK pin in order to be considered for this post.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- Part-time, Permanent
- Working 2 days between Monday - Friday 08:30 -16:30 with last working day shorter.
- You will be based in the Linden/Linwood Team
Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway and undertake wellbeing and developmental assessments for children and families
- Act as the named Health Visitor for a defined caseload providing assessment planning and ongoing support from antenatal to school entry age
- Work collaboratively with families and multi-agency partners to develop implement and monitor child centred plans
- Provide specialist advice and interventions relating to parenting health promotion child development and family wellbeing
- Contribute to safeguarding and child protection processes ensuring risks and concerns are identified escalated and managed appropriately
- Maintain accurate records and ensure effective communication with families colleagues and partner agencies
- Support service improvement quality assurance mentorship and continuous professional development within the wider team

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to do the Job
- Registered Nurse or Midwife with current NMC registration
- Post registration qualification in Health Visiting or Public Health Nursing with registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register
- Knowledge of safeguarding early intervention child protection and health and social care pathways
- Experience of managing a caseload and prioritising workload effectively within a community setting
- Ability to work in partnership with families using a strengths based and person centred approach
- Strong assessment critical thinking and decision making skills in complex situations
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams
