Role Description This full-time on-site Healthcare Assistant role is based in the Greater Cardiff Area and supports the health, comfort, and safety of individuals in a care environment. The Healthcare Assistant will assist with daily personal care activities, including helping individuals with mobility, hygiene, and basic comfort needs. The role includes monitoring and documenting patient condition, reporting changes to clinical staff, and supporting the safe administration of routine medications under appropriate supervision and guidelines. The Healthcare Assistant will follow established health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices, infection control measures, and proper use of equipment. The position also involves building positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to a respectful, inclusive, and supportive care setting.

Qualifications

  • Strong patient care skills, including supporting daily living activities and monitoring wellbeing.
  • Knowledge of basic medicine support tasks and understanding of healthcare protocols under supervision.
  • Competence in manual handling and safe use of equipment in line with best practices.
  • Awareness of health & safety standards, including infection control and risk prevention.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, care home, or support worker role is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant certifications in healthcare assistance, first aid, or manual handling are advantageous.
  • Ability to work on-site in the Greater Cardiff Area, including flexibility for shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
