Role Description
This is a full-time position as a Healthcare Assistant within our on-site supporting setting in Glasgow. The role focuses on providing direct, person-centred support to residents while assisting with daily living activities, mobility, and healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to residents, enhancing their dignity, comfort, and independence
- Assistance with personal care (including washing, dressing, and mobility)
- Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any changes to senior staff or healthcare professionals promptly
- Ensure medicines are handled, stored, and administered safely, adhering to policies and guidance under appropriate supervision
- Contribute to manual handling tasks while maintaining Health & Safety standards
- Follow and implement individualised care plans
- Maintain and update accurate records to document resident’s wellbeing and care needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment
- Contribute to coordinated teamwork to deliver high-quality, responsive care
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
- Provide emotional and practical support to promote mental and physical wellbeing

Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- Strong Patient Care and Basic Medicine Awareness skills to support residents’ daily health and wellbeing, under guidance from qualified professionals
- Formal or equivalent training in Manual Handling, with strong awareness of Health & Safety practices
- Outstanding Interpersonal Skills, including:
- Clear communication (verbal and written)
- Empathy and emotional sensitivity
- Ability to build trust and rapport with residents, families, and colleagues
- Relevant experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, or similar care role in shelter, residential, or healthcare settings
- A relevant care-related qualification, such as:
- NVQ/SVQ in Health and Social Care
- Insustry-recognised training in first aid
- Safeguarding and infection control (up-to-date certification advantageous)
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts
- Proficiency in adhering to established procedural guidelines while maintaining confidentiality
- Commitment to non-discriminatory, person-centred care principles
